Eight hundred eighty-nine (889) students took part
in the 2006-07 ACT college entrance testing program,
31 fewer than participated in 2005-06. The participation
percentage for the class of 2007 was approximately
47%, down one percent from 2006. The District average
ACT score was 22.3 on a scale from 1 to 36. This average
score was .9 higher than the Idaho average of 21.4,
and 1.1 higher than the national average of 21.1.
The ACT has five subtests: English, Reading, Math,
Science, and an optional Writing test. The following
charts provide information about average District,
state, and national performance on the ACT subtests.
Since a smaller percentage of students take the ACT
in Boise than in Idaho, some difference in average
scores might be expected. However, the substantial
difference between Boise and Idaho is impressive. All
subtest average scores are up over the past five years.
Science and Math are up .4, English is up .3, and Reading
is up .2
