Welcome to the District’s Spring Enrollment web page. Spring Enrollment is your annual period - May 15th - June 15th - in which benefit-eligible employees can make changes to their benefit plan elections. Please be sure to review all the information below as it pertains to your benefit elections.

Why Spring Enrollment?

The District offers qualifying health plan premiums (medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts) to be deducted from your pay on a pre-tax basis by operating its plan under Section 125 (a.k.a. Cafeteria Plan) of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Because the District operates under a Cafeteria Plan, the District is governed by the guidelines outlined in the IRS document, Tax Treatment of Cafeteria Plans. This limits when and what changes to elections can be made - for this reason, we have a Spring Enrollment period

What changes can be made?

Please note, if you do not wish to make changes to your benefit plans and/or enroll/re-enroll in the Flexible Spending plans for the 2018-19 plan year, no further action on your part is required. Change requests outside of the Spring Enrollment period will be subject to the limitations of the District’s Cafeteria Plan as outlined above.

During the District’s Spring Enrollment period, you may elect to enroll yourself or yourself and your eligible dependent(s) OR elect to drop yourself or yourself and your eligible, covered dependent(s) from the following plans:

  1. Regence Blue Shield of Idaho
  2. Willamette Dental
  3. Vision Service Plan (VSP), administered by Ameritas

 

During the District’s Spring Enrollment period, you may elect to drop yourself or yourself and your eligible, covered dependent(s) from the following plans:

  1. Delta Dental
    1. Delta Dental is on a three-year open enrollment cycle; the next open enrollment is scheduled for the 2020-21 school year

 

The District’s Spring Enrollment period is also your annual opportunity to enroll or re-enroll in the two flexible spending account plans:

  1. Health Care Flexible Spending Account
    1. Allows participants to be reimbursed for qualified, out-of-pocket health expenses incurred during the plan year with tax-sheltered dollars.
    2. Annual limit is $2,650
    3. Requires annual enrollment
  2. Day Care Flexible Spending Account
    1. Allows participants to be reimbursed for out-of-pocket child care expenses incurred during the plan year with tax-sheltered dollars.
    2. Annual combined household limit is $5,000
    3. Requires annual enrollment

How do I make my election changes?

Please note, if you and your spouse both work for the District and are covered under District-provided benefits (medical, dental, and/or vision) and have dependents on that coverage, you are known as "Both-District Employees" with regards to insurance benefits. The primary spouse will be responsible for making election changes; for more information, please contact benefits@boiseschools.org.

The District uses an online benefits platform, InfinityHR, to manage enrollment of benefits. To enroll or drop members during Spring Enrollment, navigate to InfinityHR. For login assistance, reference the information below:

  1. First Time User
    1. If you are a first time user, navigate to InfinityHR and click the First Time User link.
    2. Follow the prompts to establish your account.
  2. Existing User
    1. If you are an existing user, navigate to InfinityHR and enter your User ID and Password.
    2. Your User ID is your Employee ID followed by the last five (5) of your social security number (SSN).
  3. Reset ID and Password
    1. If you do not remember your password, navigate to InfinityHR and click the Reset ID and Password link.
    2. Follow the prompts to reset your password.

 

When do election changes take effect?

The changes you make during Spring Enrollment will take effect for the new plan year beginning September 1, 2018, and will run through August 31, 2019. Deductions for the new plan year will come out of your August 2018 paycheck.

How will I know if my elections have been accepted?

After you submit your changes in InfinityHR, you will receive* a notice to your District-provided email address from Human Resources outlining your changes. Be sure to review your changes and ensure they are correct. Per the Cafeteria Plan under which we operate, you are limited to when and what changes you can make once elected. If you have not received the aforementioned notice by the time you go off-duty, we highly recommend you check your District-provided email for this notice during your off-duty time.

*Please be aware this notice is sent in the order in which election changes are received and approved. If HR has a high volume of election changes, this could cause a delay in the notice being sent.
