- In Idaho children wishing to enroll in kindergarten
must be five years old on or before September 1 of
the school year in which the child enrolls.
- New kindergarten students may be registered
anytime during normal school office hours at your
neighborhood school.
- The following forms and documentation are required:
1/2 Day Traditional Kindergarten
All elementary schools in our District offer morning
and afternoon kindergarten sessions.
Our Kindergarten
Handbook & Curriculum Guide is a
detailed document covering our District's philosophy
and curriculum. The Guide provides you with an
excellent overview of what your kindergarten student
will learn.
Extended Day Kindergarten
The District offers a tuition-based all-day kindergarten
program. Parents who wish to have their child
participate in the additional half-day kindergarten
pay a tuition fee to support the extra
instruction.
Schools offering tuition-based full day kindergartens
are determined by the number of registrants. Currently
the full day program is offered at the following schools:
- Hidden Springs Elementary
- Highlands Elementary
- Liberty Elementary
- Longfellow Elementary
- Shadow Hills Elementary
Tuition varies slightly from one year to the next
and ranges between $225.00 and $275.00 per month. An
additional one time, non-refundable application fee
of $35.00 is also charged.
Transportation is the responsibility of the parent. Application can be made directly to one of the participating
schools listed above. More

Orientation
All elementary schools have a kindergarten registration
and open house day in March or April for incoming kindergarten
students and their parent(s)/guardian(s). Please contact
your school for the exact date of the registration
and open house day. Attendance is encouraged but not
required.
Please bring:
- Certified birth certificates (available from Health & Welfare)
- Immunization records

- Receive a calendar with important times and dates
for the school year
- Learn how to prepare your child for Kindergarten
- Meet teachers and staff at your child's school
