Positive Discipline for Single Parents

Being a single parent is a tremendous challenge! Positive Discipline parenting skills can help you and your children live and work together happily. Topics to be discussed include coping with feelings, communication, balancing/juggling and other single-parenting skills, creating balance in your life, understanding misbehavior, non-punitive discipline techniques, self-care for parents, and developing a respectful co-parenting relationship.

Parent Project

Designed for parents of strong willed or out-of-control adolescents.
This is a highly structured parenting skills program created to help
parents prevent and intervene in the most destructive of adolescent
behaviors. Will discuss alcohol, drugs, gangs, discipline, school
attendance, and support services.
$25 per family for workbook.

The Parenting Challenge
The Parenting Challenge is designed to meet the needs of parents in the workplace and community to address issues in effective prevention of substance abuse, delinquent behavior, and child abuse/neglect behaviors. The goals of the program are to: 1) enrich family relationships, 2) reduce substance abuse and its related problems among the family, and 3) promote healthy environments that build resistance to social and personal dysfunction.

Drug Education

Family Survival Training: At-Risk Instruction and Support for Parents:
These classes offer information, practical ideas and support for parents of at-risk teenagers who may or may not already be involved in substance abuse. Focus is on information on drugs and effects of drugs, tips on building student strengths and improving family relationships, and providing support for parents.

Student Survival Training for Junior High and High School Students
Six week closed sessions focus on the physical and emotional effects of drugs, how to develop personal strengths, providing support and self-esteem development.
