I am the Social Worker at Fairmont Jr. High and the Boise Language Academy. I am the Community Resource Social Worker at Morley Nelson and Horizon Elementary Schools. I am pleased to collaborate with staff, students and families in the Boise School District in order to enhance the academic and social/emotional skills of students. I work with educators, parents and students to identify and resolve issues that adversely impact student progress.

Focus areas: 

• Small groups: I enjoy working with students in small groups in order to provide social support, identify personal strengths, improve self-esteem and teach problem-solving and social skills.
• Individual work with students: I am available to meet with students on an individual basis to identify and problem solve issues that can adversely impact a student’s academic achievement.
• Parent consultation: I am available to meet with parents to problem-solve and access community resources.

Educational background and experience: I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at BSU and my Masters degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Idaho. I have enjoyed working for the Boise School District since 1989 at both the secondary and elementary levels. Prior to working for the Boise School District I worked for the Department of Health and Welfare in Children and Family Services providing individual, group and family counseling and case management services to youth and families. I have also provided group, individual and family counseling services to young men and women living in group home settings.
