Instruction will be provided for the student to:
1 SENSORY PROPERTIES
a. use elements (texture, line, shape, form, space and color) of
design
to communicate an intended message.
b. make connections between the elements of design with other disciplines and
the environment.
2 FORMAL PROPERTIES
a. use the principles (balance, emphasis, movement, rhythm, unity, proportion
and repetition) of design to communicate an intended message.
b. make connections between the principles of design with other disciplines and
the environment.
3 TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
a. create a work that demonstrates an understanding of characteristics of art
by a specific artist, art movement, historical period or culture.
b. categorize reproductions/works of art as being created by specific artists,
cultures, or as belonging to a specific art style or movement.
c. use art media and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
4 EXPRESSIVE PROPERTIES
a. use different media, techniques, elements and principles of design, objects
and symbols to communicate an intended message.
b. interpret the intended message of the artwork by identifying objects, symbols,
elements and principles of design, media, and techniques used to communicate
the message, and explain how they helped to express the
message.
c. describe how the artist's experiences influence the development of a work
of art.
d. describe how a person's experiences and knowledge influence responses to a
work of art.
e. compare multiple purposes for creating works of art. |
