Grading
Each student will take home an assessment for Physical
Education at the end of each quarter. This assessment
will include individual information about student achievement
on fitness tests and performance objectives specific
to their grade.
Fitness Testing
Students will be assessed on the following norm referenced
areas of fitness: aerobic endurance, flexibility, muscular
strength and endurance.
State Standards
Idaho does not currently have state standards for
Physical Education. Therefore, Boise Public Schools
Physical Education Department has aligned themselves
with the Indiana State Standards. The state of Indiana
developed their standards from standards set forth
by the National Association for Sport and Physical
Education (NASPE). Both the NASPE and Indiana State
Standards reflect the educational philosophies and
values of the Boise School District.
