Elementary Supply Lists

Updated for the 2008-2009 school year

Additional items may be required by your child's teacher and are not to exceed a total cost of $3.00.

Attention: These lists represents the supplies your child needs for a good school year beginning. However, these items may need to be replenished occasionally. From time to time, you may be asked to make small donations to help your school provide culturally enriching programs and field trips.

KINDERGARTEN SUPPLY LIST
Required Items:

  1. 2 - #2 lead pencils
  2. Box of crayons, 16 or fewer (more colors than this do not contribute to the kindergarten curriculum).
  3. 2 - 4 oz. bottles white school glue (orange cap recommended).
  4. Set of water-base felt markers.
  5. Paper towels, napkins, or facial tissue (to be assigned by teacher).

Backpack, book bag or other appropriate alternative is recommended. For the Kindergarten Curriculum Food Unit, parents may contribute $5.00 per semester or send ingredients. In addition to the Food Unit, some kindergarten teachers have daily snacks. You may receive more information from your child's teacher regarding this.

FIRST GRADE SUPPLY LIST
Required Items:

  1. #2 lead pencils - package of 12.
  2. Box of crayons, 16 or fewer.
  3. Two bottles of white school glue, 4 oz. or larger (orange cap recommended).
  4. Large pink eraser.
  5. Water color paint set with brush. (Basic colors recommended.)
  6. Large box of facial tissues.
  7. Set of water-based felt markers.

Backpack, book bag or other appropriate alternative is recommended.

SECOND GRADE SUPPLY LIST
Required Items:

  1. #2 lead pencils - package of 12 or more.
  2. Box of crayons, 24 or fewer.
  3. 2 - 4 oz. bottles white school glue (orange cap recommended).
  4. Large pink eraser.
  5. Ruler, 12" with metric scale.
  6. Spiral or wireless notebook, 70-100 pages, wide-ruled.
  7. Large box of facial tissues.
  8. Set of water-based felt markers.

Backpack, book bag or other appropriate alternative is recommended.

THIRD GRADE SUPPLY LIST
Required Items:

  1. #2 lead pencils - package of 12 or more.
  2. Box of crayons, 24 or fewer.
  3. White school glue, 1 - 8 oz. bottle or 2 - 4 oz. bottles (orange cap recommended).
  4. Large pink eraser.
  5. Ruler, 12" with metric scale.
  6. Spiral or wireless notebook, 70-100 pages, wide-ruled.
  7. Large package 3-holed wide-ruled paper.
  8. Large box of facial tissues.
  9. Set of water-based felt markers.

Backpack, book bag or other appropriate alternative is recommended.

FOURTH GRADE SUPPLY LIST
Required Items:

  1. #2 lead pencils - package of 12 or fewer.
  2. Box of crayons, 16 or more.
  3. White school glue, 1 - 8 oz. bottle or 2 - 4 oz. bottles (orange cap recommended).
  4. Large pink eraser and two or more pencil cap erasers.
  5. Ruler, 12" with metric scale.
  6. Two spiral or wireless notebooks, 70-100 pages each, college-ruled.
  7. Large package 3-holed wide-ruled paper.
  8. Pair of quality pointed scissors (Fiskar-type recommended).
  9. Red pen or pencil for correcting.
  10. Four folders with pockets.
  11. Large box of facial tissues.
  12. Set of water-based felt markers.

Backpack, book bag, or other appropriate alternative is recommended.

FIFTH GRADE SUPPLY LIST
Required Items:

  1. #2 lead pencils - package of 12 or more.
  2. Box of crayons, 16 or more.

S.O.S. "Sharing Of Supplies" is a program whereby students may purchase extra supplies and leave them at the Principal's office in order to help children less fortunate.

The Boise School District encourages re-use of school supplies when possible.
