ESC StaffFederal Programs

Federal Programs provide multiple areas of support under the guidelines of federal legislation. The No Child Left Behind Act, provides significant changes to past legislation directly impacting the Boise School District's federally funded programs. Boise School District projects funded by federal programs include the following:

 

Title I

ESC StaffTitle I provides support to over 7,000 students at 13 elementary and 2 secondary schools in reading and math. Highly qualified certified and classified personnel provide instruction. Title I schools are currently updating Schoolwide Improvement Plans (SWIP) which define instructional and performance objectives. These plans provide the foundation for decision-making at each site. Title I schools are involved in continuous collaboration and staff development as they work toward school goals supporting district initiatives. Schools included are: Whittier, Franklin, Taft, Whitney, Cole, Jefferson, Koelsch, Lowell, Jackson, Hawthorne, Garfield, Hillcrest, Mt. View, McKinley, Ft. Boise, and Mt. Cove.

  • Title V- innovative programs
  • Safe and Drug-free Schools

Professional Development Opportunities

Federal Programs provides numerous opportunities for professional development. These include:

  • On-going paraprofessional training
  • October Strategies for Success conference (in conjunction with State workshops)
  • ELL Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) training
  • Training in reading and math strategies
