Meet the Peer Assistants |

Kirk Williams 
Kirk Williams has been a high school teacher
and coach for 37 years, the last 35 years at
Borah High School, where he has taught classes
in U.S. History, American Government, Economics,
and has established an elective class in Geology.
He has been actively involved in the extracurricular
activities programs, having coached basketball,
baseball, and golf, and has been a frequent clinician
relating to effectiveness in coaching. Kirk has
been involved in the creation of curriculum for
both American Government and Geology, has served
on the Superintendent Search Committee, and has
received the District's Red Apple Award in 2007.
He was a co-creator of the "Discover Idaho" program
at Borah High, a school-within-a-school concept,
and has recently been teaching in BSUs Concurrent
Enrollment Project.
Kirk received his B.S. degree from the University
of Idaho, and is married to Jennifer, Idaho's
2002 Teacher of the Year.

Jim Coughlin
Before his retirement in the spring of 2005, Jim
Coughlin taught English, humanities, creative writing,
journalism, and history at Capital High School
for 31 years. Most recently, he taught Advanced
Placement Literature-Composition and senior-level
English 12. He served on language
arts curricula writing committees and presented
workshops on the district, state, and national
levels.
Jim received his master’s degree in curriculum
and instruction from Boise State University in
1985. He is a member of the Boise Education Association,
the Idaho Council of Teachers of English, the National
Council of Teachers of English, Phi Delta Kappa,
and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum
Development.
With Christine LaRocca, he co-edited The Art
of Work: An Anthology of Workplace Literature
in 1995. He was the recipient of the Idaho
Council of Teachers of English “Teacher
of the Year” Award in 2003 and the National
Council of Teachers of English “High School
Teacher of Excellence” Award in 2004.

Kelly Anne Kuntz
Kelly Anne has been with the Boise School District
for 17 years. During this time she has taught
special education at the junior high and elementary
levels. She has also taught
third and fourth grade along with Title I. She
has been involved in many District and Boise
Education Association Committees including the
Differentiation Cadre, Joint Negotiations Committee
and Peer Assistance Steering Committee. She has
taught adult education classes focusing on inclusion
and differentiation.
Kelly Anne received her Bachelor's degrees in
Elementary Education and Psychology with an emphasis
in Special Education from Carroll college in
Helena, MT. She has a Masters in Education in
Curriculum and Instruction from Boise State University
and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration
from the University of Idaho.

Sharon Anderson
The 2006-2007 school year will be Sharon’s
23rd year as an educator. She has taught 2nd
through sixth grades and spent her last two years
teaching a fifth/sixth multi-aged
full time Gifted and Talented class at Roosevelt
Elementary School. Her experiences include being
an instructor for the Lit Project, member of
the Steering Committee for the Development of
the Bown House, Young Author’s Conference
facilitator, Peer Mentor for the Induction Program,
curriculum writer for the Boise School District,
a participant in several curriculum adoption
committees, as well as an instructor of Boise
School District’s Professional Development
classes.
Sharon received her Bachelor’s degree
in psychology and social work from Upsala College
in New Jersey, her teaching certification from
Idaho State University, and her Master’s
degree in Educational Technology from Boise State
University.
