New teachers automatically receive help from the Peer Assistants.

Any teacher may request peer assistance by:

Principals

Principals may also refer teachers to the program, provided the teacher agrees to receive assistance. Principals may request assistance by:

Request Approval Process

  • The Peer Assistant Program Facilitator reviews and submits the request to the Steering Panel. The Facilitator assigns a number to the request so that no name is included on the request that is sent to the Panel.
  • The Panel reviews the request in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Upon approval, the Peer Assistant meets with the teacher who submitted the request.
  • The Peer and participant(s) develop goals and objectives for addressing the concerns outlined in the request.
