There are two options for becoming
an Information Navigator:
- Take the Information Navigator
Modules—designed to teach the critical content
of the Information Navigator.
- Take the Performance Assessments
(Proficiency Option)—designed for those that feel
they have mastered the critical content of the
Information Navigator.
- Navigator Test Out Sessions

Learn the Critical Content
by taking the Information Navigator Modules for
the four required core areas and one elective.
Performance Assessments
Option (Proficiency Option)
Demonstrate the Critical Content
by completing a performance assessment for each
of the four required core areas and one elective.
To prepare for the Performance Assessments:
- Learn the Critical Content
with the help of the following:
- With books, videos,
and other resources that may be available
to you
- Take the performance assessment
allowing 15-20 minutes for each assessment.
