
How do you pay for elementary meals:
The money students bring to school is put into a personal account
in the Food & Nutrition Services Computer. An account will be ready for each
student. A personal identification number (PIN) or Energy Express
Card is then used at meal times to take a breakfast or a lunch
from the personal account. This is a prepayment system, not
a charge system.
Personal identification numbers or Energy Express Cards will
be issued to students starting the first day of school.
Money can be put on a student's account before school or at
recess. Any amount of money will be accepted, but only one breakfast
and one lunch may be eaten each day using the PIN or Card.
Students qualifying for free and reduced-priced
meals will also use a PIN or Energy Express card. The free
and reduced-price meal benefit does extend to breakfast. Reduced-price
breakfast is $ .30.
For your convenience we are now able to carry forward Food & Nutrition Services account balances to the next school year. If your child
is returning to the same school next fall you may leave money
in the account for use next year. If your child will not be
returning to the same school next fall due to graduation, moving
or changing to a junior or senior high school then you must
request a refund before the last day of school. You are welcome
to ask for a refund if you wish to clear your child's account.
