How to Apply for a Certified Position:
Step 1: Complete an online
application.

Note for Previous Applicants: If you have a completed
application file and have applied or updated with the
District in the last two years please
fill out a new online application and attach a new
resume to update your file. Once your new online application
has been submitted your required materials (ex. Transcripts,
Letters of Recommendation, Credential) that have been
previously submitted will be attached to your new online
application by the Employment & Benefits staff.
Step 2: Submit Required Application Materials
- Completed Certified Application and Essay Question
- Resume
- Three current letters of recommendation or a current
placement file
- Copies of your transcripts to date from each college/university
you have attended
- A copy of your teaching Credential or Credential
Status
- A copy of your highly qualified status according
to the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act from
last employer (Out-of-State Teachers)
New applicants will need to scan and/or attach the
required documents to the online application. If you
experience problems attaching materials, contact the
Employment and Benefits office at employment@boiseschools.org.

Step 3: Screening Interview
Once all complete application materials are received, Employment
and Benefits staff will contact the applicant to schedule a screening interview
based upon district staffing needs.
Step 4: Job Announcements
Vacancy announcements will be posted on the District website. In-district
professional staff may apply for a Transfer Request.
A manifest request to hire outside applicants will
be determined after transfer requests are reviewed.
Step 5: Manifest (list of applicants)
When a manifest request for outside applicants is authorized, the Employment
and Benefits staff will review applications and screening interviews to determine
the most suitable candidates to be placed on the manifest. The manifest is
sent to the site administrator. The site administrator will contact the candidates
on the manifest for an interview. Applicants are asked not to call
the sites or the Employment & Benefits Department to request placement
on a manifest.
Step 6: Offer of Employment
The site administrator will recommend a finalist to the Area Director, and
if approved, the site administrator will extend an offer of employment.
Step 7: Contract Processing
After the finalist has accepted the employment offer the manifest will be sent
to the Employment and Benefits office for contract processing. The finalist
will receive a letter of welcome and a request for materials (i.e. original
transcripts and credential) in order to prepare the contract.
