Substitute Mission Statement
To secure qualified substitutes that will provide
daily educational instruction or support to students
in
the absence of a certified teacher or support staff
member.

Substitute teaching and/or working as a classified
(support) substitute is a wonderful career for those
individuals interested in working with Boise School
District students. As a substitute, you indicate your
interest in the success of the community education
team.
There are occasions when staff must be absent; however,
their work must go on without interruption. Therefore,
when they are unable to serve, substitutes must step
in and make valuable contributions. Substitutes are
a vital part of our total education program.
As a substitute, you have the flexibility to work
on your schedule and receive training.
