for Holiday Programs - The opportunity to be
in musical programs is important for young people.
The experience helps develop poise and presence,
hones musical skills, and promotes valuable sharing
among generations. We can preserve the spirit of
good will and sharing that is characteristically
associated with the Holidays which have both an
underlying religious and secular basis, but we
also need to be cognizant of some common sense
guidelines.
Instrument Inventory & Music Library
The following files contain all the inventory lists
used by teachers to checkout instruments to students,
a list of all instruments in the district sorted by
instrument, and the complete music library listing.
The list that teachers use to check out instruments
to students is entitled “CheckOutLists.pdf.” To
open the file, click the appropriate link. When the
file opens, use the SEARCH (field glass icon) function
to find your location and type. For example, if you
type "Borah Strings" into the search window,
it will show each page that contains Borah Strings.
The categories are band, strings, and vocal. If you
type “choir” nothing will come up. Note
the starting page and the ending page. (Tip: Holding
the cursor over the page icon shows the page number).
When you select print, indicate to print that range
of pages only. If you want to print one page, show
the starting page and ending page as the same page
number.
The library files work the same way. If you want
a particular composer, type the composer’s last
name and all those pages will show. Print the by the
page number you would like. Disregard the page numbers
that show on the documents. Use only the page numbers
shown by Adobe Reader. You may print the entire document.
If you have questions or problems contact John King

Mileage
Boise District Mileage Report Database for traveling
teachers.
The following database has been created for Access
97 and 2000. Download the Mileage Help Word document
file for instructions. If it opens in your browser,
select Save As from the File menu and select an appropriate
location to save the form and/or instructions on your
computer. The database will prepare the monthly reports
quickly and easily. You only have to input the miles
between destinations once. It meets the District guidelines
for acceptability. It will automatically create a folder
called "District Mileage" on your C- drive.
Open the file in the folder with the suffix .mdb.
Elementary Grade Reports for Band and Orchestra
Versions for Access 97 and 2000 are available. It
is recommended that you use this updated version for
2002-2003. The district address has been corrected
on the report card. Otherwise there are no changes
from the version posted last year. If you are using
Internet Explorer, just click "Open" and
it will install from the site. If not, KEEP TRACK OF
WHERE ON YOUR HARD DISK YOU SAVE THIS FILE. Close out
of the internet browser then use the Windows explorer
program to open the file you just downloaded. It will
automatically create a folder on your C-drive called
ElemGrades 2002-2003. In that folder both the band
and orchestra versions will be included. Delete the
one you do not use.
Festivals
If you are using Internet Explorer you may choose
to open the file directly and it will install the folder
directly to your C-drive. If you are using another
browser, then you must save the file to a location
of your choosing on your hard disk. The name of the
files are (for Access97): ElemFest97.exe or JHFest97.exe
or (for Access2000) Elemfest2000.exe or JHFest2000.exe.
After downloading the file, close your browser, then
use the Windows Explorer to double-click the file name.
It will automatically put the folder on your C-drive.
Festival files for elementary and junior high are
new for 2003. Please use these versions only. Do
not use previous versions.
