Highlands Elementary

Highlands Elementary opened in 1962 and is outdated and overcrowded.

With multiple portable classrooms, a small combined gym and cafeteria and limited space for learning and parent conferences, Highlands ranked as the 2nd worst elementary school on all three major 2016 Facilities Audit categories (Utilization, Educational Adequacy and the Facilities Condition Index).

A new school, in the same location, will reduce overcrowding, improve safety, meet modern education standards, and provide additional space for physical education and music.
