​Summer 2019 Registration Information
NOTE: On Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th there will not be classes at any of the summer school sites.

All classes for the Secondary Summer Schools begin on Tuesday, June 4th for Semester 1.
All classes for the Secondary Summer Schools begin on Monday, July 1st for Semester 2. 
Alternative Summer High School will be at South Jr High
Alternative Jr High Summer School will be at 
Frank Church High School

Traditional Gr. 7 - 12 Secondary Summer School will be at West Jr High

Note: Elementary Summer Schools and ESY begin on Monday, June 24th (details below)

SUMMER MEAL PROGRAM​  - Link will activate for the start of summer programs

Boise School District offers a wide variety of summer school classes for students to enhance their educational experiences.  The District offers remediation assistance for elementary students in math, language and reading.  Contact your elementary school for more information. Secondary students have the opportunity to take core classes for credit.


An Alternative Junior High Program, titled ‘Pathways to Promotion' is designed for Pre 7 – 8th grades.  The location for the 'Pathways to Promotion' program will be at Frank Church High School for Summer 2019. This six-week, half-day long program is designed to assist students who have failed or have done poorly in English and or Math classes. Classes are held Tuesday, June 4 - July 12, 2019. Students enrolled in this program must meet the “At- Risk” State qualifications. The Traditional Secondary Summer School offers a variety of classes for students entering grades 7- 12. This program has two 4-week long semesters and students can take up to two classes each semester, one in the AM block (8:00 - 11:45) and one in the PM block (12:15 - 4:00).

The location of the Traditional Secondary Summer School (for 7 - 12th Grade students) will be at West Jr High for Summer 2019.

The schedule of classes will be as follows:

Traditional Secondary Summer School Classes:

1st Semester: Tuesday, June 4 - June 28, 2019

2nd Semester: July 1 - July 26, 2019 (July 4 and July 5 - Holiday - No School)


On EOC/Semester exam days (June 28 and July 26) students will have a half day. Morning session will test from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. and afternoon session will test from 9:50 a.m. - 11:20 a.m. 

Free Breakfast and Lunch meals will be provided for all students up to and including ages 18.

Boise District's Alternative Secondary Summer School is for students in grades 9 -12 who are seeking credit recovery. This program has two 4-week semesters. The location of the 2019 Alternative High School Summer School program and also for the Secondary EL Summer Program will be at South Jr. High, 3101 W. Cassia St., Boise 83705.

 

The schedule of classes for Alternative Secondary Summer School will be as follows:

High School Classes:

1st Semester: Tuesday, June 4 - June 28
2nd Semester: July 1 - 26, 2019 (July 4 and July 5 - Holiday - No School)

Students enrolled in this program must meet the “At- Risk” State qualifications.

 

Each Alternative Program has a specific registration and information packet. Please see your student's counselor more details on registering your student. Free Breakfast and Lunch meals will be provided for all students up to ages 18.

Extended School Year Program (ESY) 2019
June 24 - July 26th, 2019
(July 4 and July 5 - Holiday - No School) 8:45 - 12:45 daily

The 2019 Summer ESY Program locations include the elementary summer school sites of Whitney, Garfield, Horizon, Lowell and Morley Nelson Elementary Schools. At the secondary level, the Secondary ESY Program will be located at South Jr. High.

​ Student qualification for the Extended School Year Program is determined by the IEP team for each child at their regular school during the regular school year.
