The Boise Language Academy provides an intensive English
language acquisition program in a transitional setting for
a maximum of two years. A full class schedule is offered, taught
by certified ELL and content staff. These classes include:
English, ELD, Speech, Reading, Writing, Math, History, Science,
and Government. Students attend classes both by grade level
and English language proficiency level. Classes focus on acquiring
English through content using the SIOP framework. This approach
is content- based and communicative in methodology. Students
earn comparable credits to their peers in mainstream educational
settings, enabling transfer at semester and on-time completion
of graduation requirements.

Our History: The Language Academy had it's first home at Fort Boise from
1992-1998. In 1998 we relocated to a wing of Riverglen Junior
High. In the fall of 2008 we became a new school within the
Boise School District.
