Welcome to Boise High School
Boise High is one of five public high schools in the city of Boise.
Established in 1881, it is the oldest and is located
near the downtown core. We are a three-year comprehensive
public school with an enrollment of over 1400 students.
For several years we have been recognized by the Northwest
Association of School’s Accreditation Committees as an Exemplary
Accredited School and by Newsweek
Magazine as one of the top 500 high schools in the nation.
Boise High School is a special place because of
our students and the professional educators who teach
here. A tradition of excellence is embraced by the faculty and
transferred to students. Our approach to education produces
high test scores; a school wide GPA that well exceeds a 3.0 on
a 4.0
scale;
high
enrollment in AP and accelerated classes; numerous Merit Scholars;
and a college attendance rate of over 70 percent.
Boise High strives to provide students
with a balanced educational program, providing both curricular
and extra-curricular
activities. School
clubs
offer outlets to compete or to just belong to a group
with similar interests. We emphasize our Guiding Principles
for proper behaviors for students and staff and we also have a
strong spirit of community
service. Our students excel in the
classroom, on the playing field, and in the concert hall.
Boise High is a special place
with deep historic and traditional roots. We are proud of our
school, our students, our staff,
and of the accomplishments of our alumni. We are unified in
our commitment to excellence.
