Marian Pritchett High School ...
Serving the needs of pregnant
teens since 1964

Staying in school
is the most important choice that a girl can make for her
future, and that of her baby.
- Marian Pritchett School is offered by the Boise School
District at the Salvation Army's Booth Memorial Campus.

- We accept students from any school district.
- Our students study the same curriculum as the other Boise
School District secondary schools and earn a regular high
school diploma from the Boise School District.
- The Salvation Army provides an onsite day care, counseling,
and social work services.
- Bus transportation is provided within the Boise School
District.
- Residential living is provided by The Salvation Army for
students 18 years and older.
- Studies show that a 16 year old pregnant teen who drops
out of school will have 3 more babies before she is twenty-one.
The Mission of Marian
Pritchett School is to provide a confidential environment
for pregnant and parenting young women who want to earn their
high school diploma.
Where I’m From
—a composite poem from Mrs. Murphy’s
senior English class at
Marion Pritchett School
I am from humid air,
from tamales during Christmas.
I’m from pruning and picking,
from the smell of lavender and pine.
I am from Slimfast and black and white coffee, strong and
sweet. I am from yellers and emotional women,
from
the cactuses my mom grew.
I’m from fried chicken, potatoes and cornbread,
from Tomiko’s sushi and rice.
I am from the west and the east,
no where near the ocean.
I am from my mother, who raised me alone.
