The SAT and ACT are college entrance tests for students planning to enter 4-year colleges and universities. These tests should be taken spring of the junior year or fall of the senior year. Registration materials, test dates, locations, test strategies and practice tests are available in the Career Center and online.

NOTE: A free SAT and ACT and PSAT test prep class is available to all Borah High School students. (See information below.)

The PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) is offered once a year in October. Sophomores should take it for practice for the SAT. Juniors should take it for possible scholarships in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

The PLAN is a practice test for the ACT. It is administered in the fall of the sophomore year.

The Compass Test is a placement test used by 2-year colleges. It is administered throughout the year at Boise State University for $15.00.
