Susan Nickel, Teacher Librarian
This is Susan Nickel’s fourth year at Capital, and she
enjoys working with the wonderful students, faculty, staff
and parents of the Capital high learning community. Mrs. Nickel
is co-advisor to National Honor Society and is advisor of Capital’s
Book Club.
Mrs. Nickel grew up in Montana and attended Montana State
University where she earned a B.S. in Home Economics with a
minor in Library Science. She spent the first 8 years of her
teaching career in rural Montana education as a consumer and
family sciences teacher and a K-12 teacher librarian.
In the late 80’s Mrs. Nickel was ready for a new adventure.
She moved to Washington where she was a junior high teacher
librarian in the Kent School District. In 1996 she earned her M.Ed.
in Educational Technology at City University. In 2003 Mrs.
Nickel earned her National Board for Professional Teaching
Standards certification.
Mrs. Nickel loves living in Boise with her husband, Dan, and
his two sons. She and her family enjoy laughing, bicycling,
hiking, traveling, watching movies, and cooking. Reading,
gardening, and textile crafts are her other passions.
Clarisse Tate, Library Assistant
This is library assistant Clarrise Tate’s first year
working in the library at Capital after ten years at Borah.
Coming to Capital has been a wonderful experience, and she has enjoyed meeting some great
faculty and students. Clarisse has been married for 29 years
and has four children and six grand-children. She is a fourth
generation Idahoan and enjoys camping, fishing and just being
outdoors. She loves to read and has been a member of a book
club for 18 years. Clarisse enjoys doing needlework, baking and
is learning to enjoy scrapbooking.
She mostly enjoys just spending
time with her family playing games or just hanging out together.
Roberta Hurtt, Library Assistant
Roberta Hurtt is married, a mother of two sons and one grandson.
She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, scrap
booking, and traveling. She is a long time Boise resident
and enjoys the area.
