WELCOME TO CYNTHIA MANN ELEMENTARY!
Welcome to the 2007-08 school year at Cynthia Mann Elementary. I
am looking forward to working with students and parents this
year. We have an outstanding staff and a terrific PTA
to help meet children’s needs. Our goal is to help all
students achieve at the highest possible level, while keeping
them safe in an orderly environment.
My name is Rick Bollman and I am the principal at Cynthia
Mann. I have been employed in the Boise School District
for 30 years as a teacher, coach or administrator. I
received my B.A in Elementary Education at Boise State University
and my M.Ed. in School Administration at the University of
Idaho. This is my twelfth year as a school principal, previously
working at two other elementary schools in the Boise District. I
was a classroom teacher for thirteen years before entering
administration and view myself as an instructional leader. I
enjoy working with students, teachers and parents at the elementary
school level. I work to establish a positive climate
where the greatest learning opportunities are made available
for students. I strive to do my best to relate with others
by listening to different viewpoints that would benefit student
success. Professionalism is very important to me and
I promote teamwork and fairness in a community environment. I
believe that students, parents and staff all have an important
role to play in establishing a successful school community.
At Cynthia Mann, we share the motto as the Boise School District: “Educating
Today for A Better Tomorrow.” Our school philosophy states:
“ … each child should have the opportunity
to achieve success and develop a feeling of self worth. Through
varied teaching techniques the Cynthia Mann staff will provide
each student with the skills necessary for cumulative learning,
a sense of worth leading to social maturity, and the means
to develop a set of moral and ethical values.”
This philosophy is dependent on positive staff and parent
relations. Community support is essential in helping to provide
the best opportunities for students to learn and grow. Our
desire is to keep the lines of communication open. This will
be done through weekly newsletters and reminders.
As we strive to help every child be successful this year,
we are seeking parent commitment in the following areas:
- Setting aside at least 20 minutes each
night for a child to read or be read to
- Having all students arrive at school
on time every day if possible
- Improving all student scores on district
and state mandated tests
- Providing equal opportunities for all
students
- Establishing regular communication between
home and school
- Recognizing the quality staff at Cynthia
Mann
Please feel free to contact any staff person if we can assist
you this year.
Thank you for your positive support!
