Welcome to second grade! My name is Caron Santillanes
and I am so happy to be your child’s teacher this year.
I love teaching and enjoy helping your wonderful
children blossom and grow.
This is my thirty-first year of teaching. I
taught first grade for eight years and second grade for
the past eleven years. I also have eleven years of
experience teaching in resource rooms. In these
settings, I taught students with a wide range of
learning, physical and behavioral disabilities. I
graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in
Exceptional Child Education. I love being a “life long
learner” and have 60 credit hours on top of my two
degrees. This means I bring a lot of experience and
training into my classroom.
Technology is my passion and I have spent
many years teaching teachers and students how to use a
wide variety of technology skills. I am a Technology
Coordinator for Cynthia Mann and have served on several
district technology committees. Your child will
experience many technology integrated lessons during the
school year. You will be amazed at the projects your
child will complete.
My goal is for your child to have a very
successful second grade year. I work hard to meet the
educational, emotional, and developmental needs of your
child. Lessons are presented with a variety of learning
style methods that help your child learn through their
strengths and strengthen their weaknesses. I believe in
strong home and school relationships that will help your
child develop not only individually, but will also help
them work well with others.
Thank you so much for sharing your child
with me. Together, we will make this a very successful
year for your child.
