Welcome to our school!

Welcome to Hawthorne Elementary School! We expect an incredibly productive year of academic and social learning and family partnership.

We work hard with parents and the community to make Hawthorne a great place to learn and grow!

This year many exciting programs are going on at Hawthorne.  Some are successful programs continuing from previous years, like GOAL, Early Bird Math and Reading, GATE, the Dental Van, the Rec. Van, and After School Homework Room.  Some are new, like the Extended Resource Room, or the Lifetime Movers program which is organized play three days a week during lunch recess with Mrs. Therrien, or the "Hawk Eyes" program where we have responsible 4th through 6th graders facilitating and modeling good play.

School Mission

Boise School District states its purpose as "Education Today for a Better Tomorrow."  We at Hawthorne support that vision and add:

Hawthorne's goal is to continue fostering academic excellence through collaborative efforts of staff, parents, volunteers, and students.  Our school will be a neighborhood center that provides a sense of community, safety, stability, and resources for many family needs.  We are committed to guiding and inspiring students to become productive and valued members of our community.  Our goal is to help students realize their potential and to establish a solid foundation for their futures.  The Hawthorne staff will continue to demonstrate their commitment to every student through the exploration of new approaches to teaching, personal growth, and dedication beyond the classroom.
