What is the PTO?
The Hawthorne Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an active
link between students, teachers and parents. We are a voice
and a resource for parents, an advocate for children and support
for our school staff.
Meetings:
Our meetings are scheduled on the third Wednesday of each
month at 5:45 - 6:45 PM in the school library. Child care is
provided! Watch Hawk Talk for news of guest speakers. There
will be no meeting in December.
Membership:
If you would like to become a member look for the PTO flyer
the Parent Involvement Packet, attend a Hawthorne Parent Involvement
Meeting or leave a message at the front desk and a PTO officer
will contact you.
PTO Objectives:
Hawthorne PTO’s main objectives are to improve the educational
environment for our children, to increase student success through
the programs we support, and to involve parents actively in
our school. (Research shows parent involvement makes a big
difference in children’s school success.)
Some of the ways we seek to meet these objectives are by sponsoring
the following activities:
- Box Tops For Education
- Carnival
- Ice Cream Social
- AR Tests
- Giving Tree
- Fund Raisers
|
- PE Equipment
- Software
- Yearbook
- Staff Appreciation
- Playground Equipment
- Sock Hop
- Heart Grams
