My
philosophy of teaching evolved not from my teaching experiences, but
from
my experiences as a student. Sitting on the student side of desks, I
learned
that a good teacher establishes a warm, accepting environment, promotes
active participation and responsible decision-making, encourages
informed
problem-solving and daily doses of humor, and motivates each student to
give his/her best effort, at whatever level. Teachers who accomplish
all
that are the teachers who successfully instill a love of learning that
will carry students into the future and into adulthood.
