Parent Boosters
The Hillside Junior High Parent Booster Club acts in
cooperation with
the faculty at Hillside to bring home and school closer together to
enhance
our children’s learning experience. There are two objectives of
the
club:
1) To bring the home and the school into a closer relationship through
the parents and faculty working together to secure, for every student,
the highest advantage in physical, mental, and social education.
2) To promote better community participation in school functions.
Membership in the Booster Club is an opportunity to be
involved in our
student’s lives, as well as a chance to get to know the faculty and
staff
at Hillside, and other parents. We would extend an invitation to
all parents to become involved in the Booster Club. There are
many
activities you can be involved in, whether you donate your time or
supply
refreshments for an activity.
Parent Booster activities include:
*being chaperones for school dances
*provide Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for needy families of our
Hillside community
*fund and coordinate the Athletic Picnic in the spring
*fund and coordinate the end of the year party for the 9th Grade class
*host the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
*help sponsor Red Ribbon Week
*help Hillside staff with Back-to-School registration, school pictures,
and the quarterly Hillside Newsletter that is mailed to student’s homes
All parents and /or guardians of Hillside students are
welcome to become
members of the Hillside Booster Club. Board members are elected
each
year from those who volunteer. Board meetings are held monthly,
usually
the first Friday of the month, at noon in the conference room at
Hillside.
All members are welcome to attend these board meetings.
Hillside’s
principal, Jeff Farley, gives a report at each monthly meeting as
well
as updates on upcoming items such as EOC’s, ISAT Testing, school
policies,
and current issues with the students.
