Welcome!
If you've ever taken pen to paper, you are a writer. If you've
ever written a sentence that expresses a complete thought, you are a
technician. If you've ever strung a group of sentences together
to form a paragraph that expands that one thought into a coherent idea,
you are a thinker. If you've converted and transformed that one
paragraph into a complex mix of thought and idea, you are all of the
above. Lucky me! I spend days, with writers,
technicians, and thinkers...
Tolerance and empathy are the thematic threads that tie
the 8th grade English Curriculum into a cohesive whole. Literary
examples of these themes include The Dairy of Anne Frank,
and The Giver.

Honor Society
Five main purposes have guided chapters of NJHS from the beginning: "To
create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render
service, to promote leadership, to emphasize the importance of
citizenship, and to develop character in the students of secondary
schools". (from the NJHS Constitution) These purposes also
translate into the criteria for membership selection in each local
chapter.
