I have been teaching in the Social
Studies department at
Hillside Jr. High since 1998. I
currently teach World Studies 8 and US History 9. We
work through our material with notes,
lecture, class discussion, projects, group work and video.
Students will have homework in social
studies this
year. You can expect homework 2-3 times
a week. Students will need to finish up
class work, prepare for unit exams and work on unit study guides.
The Boise
School district
has an amazing website with very useful
information. You can find out about the
district as well as information about Hillside Jr. High.
Please take time to view the curriculum; we
have detailed information for all classes.
I communicate through email and over
the phone. My direct phone number is
854-5169. Please feel free to contact me
at
anytime.
I was born in Boise,
Idaho
and I am a product of the Boise
School District.
I graduated from California
Lutheran University
in 1996 with a BA in
Social Sciences. Then I attended Boise
State University
and graduated in 2000 with a masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Recently, 2007, I graduated from the University
of Idaho with a second
masters
degree in Educational Leadership. I am
excited about education, I believe Hillside Junior High is an
exceptional
building for learning. I am honored to
be part of the faculty here.
Thank you,
Margaret A. Rider
