Welcome
to the School Counselor web page at Liberty Elementary. Please
call or email me if you have any questions or concerns regarding
your child.
Focus areas:
- Classroom guidance
- I am in each of the classrooms at Liberty every other
week teaching the Boise School District Counseling Curriculum.
The curriculum units include: Success in School, Conflict
Management, Safe Choices, and Careers and Future Planning.
- Small groups
- As a school counselor I facilitate small groups to help
children learn to be a better student, adjust to changes
in their lives, or get along with others.
- Individual work
with students - I also work with students individually
to help them adjust to school, or deal with a specific
problem they are experiencing. Students may be referred
to me by a parent, school staff, or themselves.
- Parent education
- Classes are offered by the school district to help parents
to learn ways to communicate with their child, set boundaries
while maintaining the relationship, and improve parenting
skills. Liberty Elementary also has a Parent Education
Library, sponsored by Liberty’s PTA, with many wonderful
parenting audio tapes, CD’s, books, video’s,
and DVD’s located in the counselor’s office.
- Parent/staff
consultation - I also brainstorm and problem solve with
staff and parents on different student/child concerns.
