| Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kelly Kaye and I am the director of choirs at North. In addition to the choirs I also teach Creative Communication and Music Appreciation. |
| How I got to North
I have been totally involved in music since I began piano lessons when I was seven. About that same time I also realized that I loved to sing and have been in choirs ever since. I have a Bachelor of Music Performance and a Master of Music Performance from Arizona State University. After college I traveled to Vienna, Austria which I loved so much that I spent two years there studying piano, performing and soaking up a wealth of fabulous music. After Vienna I found myself in Seattle, Washington working at a multitude of really cool jobs like the Seattle Opera Chorus, music theater, cabaret, vocal coaching, accompanying and private teaching. In 1993 I moved back to Boise and went back
to school for the classes I needed to become certified as
a public school teacher.

My philosophy
|
| My life outside North
In the few hours a day when I’m not at school I try to do all the things that real people do, like grocery shopping and mowing my yard. I also am assistant director for the Boise Master Chorale, and I sing with a madrigal group and for special occasions. At home I’m ‘Mom’ to my son Jesse, cat Nekko, and big poodle Sophie. |
