Monday, Nov. 24:  Articles of Confederation simulation.  Read Chapter 8, section 1 and take notes on power.  Due Tuesday BOP.

Tuesday, Nov. 24:  Notes on the Land Ordinance of 1785 and the Northwest Ordinance of 1787.  Due EOP.

Wednesday, Nov. 25:  Video guide on John Adams.  Due EOP.

Monday, Dec. 1:  Read and take notes on Chapter 8, section 2.  Due Tuesday BOP.

Tuesday, Dec. 2:  Meet the delegates at the Constitutional Convention play.

Wednesday, Dec. 3:  Analyze the themes of the Convention, through a reading of a play.

Thursday, Dec. 4:  Determine needs for graduation with Mr. Rutte.

Friday, Dec. 5:  Conclude reading of play and notes.

OBJECTIVES:  Learn the principles, branches and powers of the Constitution.

Problem:  How does the Constitution define, contain and limit the power of government?

Monday, Dec. 8:  Compare and contrast the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.  Examine 7 principles of the Constitution.  Handouts due Tuesday, BOP.

Tuesday, Dec. 9:  Examine the branches of the government under the Constitution with regard to separation of powers and checks and balances.  Examine the role of the Preamble.  Complete the checks and balances chart.  Complete the illustrations boxes.  Due Wednesday, BOP.

Wednesday, Dec. 10:  Examine federalism under the Constitution by comparing the powers of the branches.  Illustrations due Thursday, BOP.

Thursday, Dec. 11:  Examine the concept of limited government,  Read The Federalist No. 51 and reflect on its meaning.  Complete chart on Federalists v. Anti-Federalists.  Due Friday, BOP.

Friday, Dec. 12:  Examine the protection of individual rights under the Constitution.  Complete Bill of Rights mini poster by Monday.  Due Monday BOP.  Study for EOC Tuesday, December 16th over the weekend.
