OBJECTIVES:  Examine the expansion of the United States following the Civil War and the nation's unequal development.

Monday, April 21:  Notes on Racism and Sharecropping in the South.  Complete study guide.  HW:  Complete chart on Reconstruction Legislation.  Due Tuesday BOP.

Tuesday, April 22:  Turn in study guide and Reconstruction Legislation.  Create map of railroad routes west and cattle trails north.  Due Thursday, BOP.  HW:  Read and take notes on Chapter 19, section 1.  Due Wednesday BOP.

Wednesday, April 23:  Show notes.  Consider Homestead Act, Railroad Act and Mining Act.  Take notes.  Answer essay question.  Map due Thursday.

Thursday, April 24:  Turn in map and essay.  Begin railroad project.  Due Monday.

Friday, April 25:  Work on railroad project.  Due Monday.

US History Assignments April 28 ~ May 2

OBJECTIVES:  Conclude examination of four perspectives of the development of the transcontinental railroad.  Evaluate the waves of wars against the Native Americans.

Monday, April 28:  Group up with like individuals from the railroad project.  Share, then write up one word describing effect of RR.  Regroup in mixed group.  Come up with one word or phrase.  Share.

Tuesday, April 29:  Notes from Charles Schulz's perspective of the transcontinental railroad.  Due EOP.

Wednesday, April 30:  Notes on the various Indian Wars of the late 1800s.

Thursday, May 1: Continue notes.

Friday, May 2: Smoke Signals.  Pep assembly and early release at noon.
