TIWL: to review and remember terms and concepts for the Unit 3 test.
1.  QOD - Write one preview sentence using a problem-solution organizational pattern and one using a spatial pattern. (Label p-s and spatial.)

3.   Unit 3 Test tomorrow.  Study tonight!!

How do you use persuasion in your life?  Give examples.
2.  Begin Persuasion Unit.  PSA and topic info.  Choose a topic to research for a 60 second PSA.

12-11 Friday

TIWL:  to find research (logos) for my Public Service Announcement.
1.  NO QOD.   Keep QODs through next week.
2.  Meet in the library.   Find research for your PSA topic.  Print off what you find!!  Also, fill out blue citation sheets for the info you will use.

TIWL: to prepare for Monday night's dress rehearsal.
1.  Read Dress Rehearsal Instructions.
2.  Review items still needed for the play.
 

 

12-14 Monday

             Speech

              Theatre I

TIWL:  to find important information about how to persuade.
1.  QOD.   Add to last week's.  What do most radio PSAs use as their attention step or hook?
2.  Answer questions about persuasion from Chapter 21.
3.  If time, share some of your commercials using the
the Motivated Sequence. (#10)

1.  Review basic rules for Dress Rehearsal TONIGHT!!

2.  Last minute crew work.

3.  Run through the ending of the play.

12-15 Tuesday

1.  QOD.   Add to last week's.  Write a purpose sentence for your public service announcement.
2.  Correct yesterday's persuasion questions.
3.  Persuasive Speaking Made Easy DVD with guide.
4.  BRING ALL PSA RESEARCH AND CITATIONS WITH YOU TOMORROW TO CLASS.

1.  Directions for evening performance, school plays and schedule.

12-16 Wednesday

             Speech

              Theatre I

TIWL:  to write a rough draft of my PSA.
1.  QOD.   Add to last week's.  Write a need step and a satisfaction step for a PSA on why we should not be racist.
2.  Finish DVD.   Hand back yesterday's papers.
3.  Review PSA directions.  Then write a rough draft of your PSA.   If time, also write your outlined cards.

1.  Run through the play on the stage.   Use all props and sound!!  - 9th grade crew.
 

 

12-17 Thursday

             Speech

              Theatre I

TIWL:  to create a Power Point Presentation to run behind my PSA.
1.  QOD.   Add to last week's.  List some of the basic guidelines for writing an MLA style bibliography.  Turn in the QODs.
2.  Library.   Create at least one Power Point slide for your PSA.    When finished, save it in the homework dropoff folder/coxp/your hour using your last name.
3.  If time, you may type your PSA, bibliography, or work on your outline if not finished.
4.  Final PSAs with Bibliography are due Jan. 5th.

1.  Run through the play in the cafeteria.   Use all props and sound!!  - 8th grade crew.
2.  EVENING PERFORMANCE TONIGHT.  BE HERE AT YOUR SCHEDULED TIME!!


 

 

12-18 Friday - TEAM DAY   1/2 Day School out at noon.

12-21 Monday:   Winter Break
