Grading Policies
1. Your grade in this class will be based on the points you earn on daily assignments, quizzes and tests Each daily assignment is worth 10 points, quizzes will be worth 20-50 points, and tests will be worth 100 points. The Grading scale will be: A, 90-100; B, 80-89; C, 70-79; D, 60-69; F, 59 and below.
2. On homework, quizzes, and tests, you must show work so I know how you arrived at the answer. A paper with just a column of answers is unacceptable and will not be given credit.
3. It is your responsibility to complete the assignments from class time you miss. You will find the assignments written on the weekly agenda on the side board. Two days will be allowed to make-up work for every day of excused absence.
4. In Algebra 1 & Algebra 1 Part 1, late assignments will be accepted for 50% credit, but only through the end of that particular chapter. In Accelerated Geometry & Accelerated Algebra 2, late work will not be accepted.
Miscellaneous
1. Turn all assignments in on loose leaf notebook paper. Use of pencil, rather than pen, is highly recommended. I suggest keeping an organized notebook with notes, assignments, and tests for easier reference and study.
2. Bring the following items to class each day: your math textbook, a pencil for use on assignments and tests, a red pen or pencil for correcting homework, and a calculator for use at appropriate times.
3. Please ask questions: If I have not explained something clearly, you don't understand, or you have a question pertaining to the lesson, do not hesitate to raise your hand and ask a question. I am here to help you learn in class and outside of class. If you need help, I will usually be available at 7:25 AM before school and until at least 3:00 PM after school.
