Donations and Fundraising: Again this year, North is implementing a different kind of fundraiser. No one will have to plan an event, make any goods for bake sales or sell items door-to-door. All that is involved is a simple donation to the Boise Public Schools Education Foundation.

Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible and are eligible for the tax credit for contributions to Idaho educational entities. Some of your employers even match your contributions to the Foundation!

If you donate $100 to the Foundation for North Junior High School, your actual out-of-pocket expense after taxes will be $17. A $200 contribution will result in a $34 after-tax expense and a $500 donation will actually cost $134 after tax breaks.

Any contribution earmarked "North Junior High School" goes to help students, programs, teachers and/or to improve the facility. We will be collecting contributions in the categories of "school improvements," "teams," "music programs," and "other."

For example, the administration could choose "school improvements" donations to purchase new water fountains to provide cold, clean healthy drinking water for our children. The music program could use contributions to help finance trips or uniforms. The grade-level teams could use the monies to purchase technology upgrades to assist students or help finance curricular-related team days. Our goal with this fundraiser is to decrease the amount of requests your student makes for money on behalf of school activities.

Remember, donations to North Junior High School through the Boise Public Schools Education Foundation are tax deductible. The Foundation accepts checks, MasterCard and Visa. We see this opportunity as one that will mutually benefit you and your child's school.

If you have questions, please contact Carolyn Gruver or Ginny Gobel or North's Principal, Dr. Teri Thaemert.
