The role of the Owyhee-Harbor Elementary Parent Teacher Organization
(PTO) is to promote the welfare of our children and their education. This
is accomplished by: 
- Encouraging collaborative
relationships between home, school, and the community. Research shows
that parent involvement helps kids succeed in school, raise test
scores, and reduce discipline problems. Harbor schools encourage parents
to volunteer so they can support and understand their child’s
education, which will enhance the program’s effectiveness.
- Providing educational
opportunities and facilitating school events through fundraising and
volunteering.
- Purchasing items not covered
by the school's budget.
- Offering support and
encouragement to parents and staff members.
The PTO works hard to enhance the educational experience of our
children, but we love to HAVE FUN!!! We want parents involved! All are
encouraged to join and attend the meetings. Please watch the school
newsletter for meeting times and dates or call the office for more
information.
