Computer Lab 216/217 Ground
Rules
1.
No food, drink,
or gum in the computer lab.
2.
Be careful about
cords hanging down under the tables. If you see one that is out of place notify
your teacher.
3.
Use good typing
posture.
4.
Chairs are for
sitting, not for commuting.
5.
Do not touch
monitor screens. They smudge very easily.
6.
Try to figure out
a problem on your own. Carefully read any written directions that were given to
you. Try reading the online help. Ask the students next to you for help.
Lastly, ask the teacher.
7.
During
instruction time important directions are given or discussion is taking place.
Students should not be using the computer during discussion time. Never turn
monitors off.
8.
Every time a disk or flash drive is
used at school, it must first be scanned using Norton AntiVirus. Ask for help
if you are not sure how to do this.
9.
Teacher
permission is needed to download anything on to your computer. If a
webpage says that it needs to install something to continue ask your teacher
for help.
10.
A student should never
install a program on a computer. This includes Fonts, Cursors, Games, etc.
11.
Video games are
allowed only under very special conditions. Unless you have specific permission
from your teacher, you may not play video games in class.
12.
Do not open and
close the CD drive.
13.
Use soft touch on
the keyboards.
14.
Use only programs
that you have been given instruction on using. Do not navigate to drives or
folders where you have no business.
15.
Don’t change
wallpaper, mouse pointer or screensavers. Do not move icons from their original
locations.
16.
At the end of
class, put any papers used for lessons on the clipboard. Push in chairs and
throw away scrap paper. Recycle paper whenever possible.
17.
Follow Internet
and email guidelines as given in the Acceptable Use Policy, found in your
Agenda.
