Creating a Brochure to Promote Computer Applications.
Your task for this project is to create a brochure to help inform students about Riverglen's computer applications classes. The best brochures will actually be used by the school's counselors to give to students when they begin the class registration process. Here's what you need to do:
| 1. Open Publisher. In the Task Pane
choose Brochures, Informational.
2. On the right side, look at all the different brochure templates and choose the one that you think will work best for this project. 3. After finding the brochure you want use the Task Pane to select the items below. |

| 4. Choose the Color Scheme of your choice. | ![]() |
| 5. For Page size choose 3-panel. |

| 6. For Customer Address choose None. | |
| 7. For Form choose None. | |
| 8. Go to Edit, Personal Information. | |
| 9. Put your name in the Name: field. 10. Make sure the address is correct as shown to the right. 11. Make sure the phone and fax is correct. 12. For this brochure the email address should be roger.piperruth@boiseschools.org 13. Change the Organization name: to Riverglen Jr. High. 14. Change the Tag line to Computer Applications. 15. Click the Update button, and then the Finish button. 16. Save the file as brochure in your home folder. |

| 17. On page one correct the phone number at the bottom right of the brochure. It should be: 208 854-5910 | ![]() |
| 18. On page one, in the right side panel, in the text frame above Computer Applications type: Looking for a class that is fun and challenging? Bold the text after typing. | ![]() |
| 19. On page one, in the center panel, change the Logo by
clicking on the Wizard button after you select the logo. In the Task
Pane choose the design that you think looks best.
20. Double click on the logo picture and change it to a picture of a bear. When you double click it, the Clip Art Gallery window comes up. Do a search for bears and choose the one you like. In order to put two lines of text into the logo, click the wizard button, click on Logo Options, and for Lines of Text choose 2. |

| 21. On page two, in the left panel at the top type, Sign up for Computer Applications! Or something similar. | ![]() |
| 22. Change all the pictures in the brochure to pictures what
have something to do with computer applications class. You may use clipart
or a picture from the internet, or there are four pictures to choose from
in L:\students\publisher

| Here are thumbnails of the pictures to give you an idea of what's available. | ![]() |
| 23. Now its your job to fill in the rest of the brochure with information about computer applications class. You could include what we learn, things you like about it, how you think it might come in handy in the future or anything else you can think of that would interest a potential student. | Click on the link below to view a flyer that was designed for last year's registration. You may use any information from this flyer in your brochure. Putting it into your own words that kids could relate to would really enhance your brochure. |
| 24. On the outside middle panel include the Computer Applications Website, and give yourself credit for creating the brochure. Use textboxes to do this. | ![]() |
| 25. Before finishing your brochure check it over for spelling mistakes, and make sure everything is readable and attractive. | Click here to see an example of page 1 (The outside of the brochure). |
