Dear Parents:
The following grading system will be utilized
to determine your son/daughter's grade for each quarter and
semester.
It is as follows:
| REQUIRED CONCERTS- | 35 possible points per concert or performance. |
| BIMONTHLY TESTS - | Total of 30 points possible per test. |
| WEEKLY TESTS- | Total of 15 points possible per test. |
| DAILY CLASS PARTICIPATION- | 3 points daily: Three points are deducted for any absence. An excused absence may be made up by appointment. |
A PRACTICE COMMITMENT OF 2 & 1/2
HOURS
PER WEEK.
THIS IS PART OF THE DAILY CLASS PARTICIPATION
AND IS WORTH 2 OF THE THREE POINTS.
All points will be totaled at the end of each
quarter and averaged according to the Boise Public Schools grading
structure.
Makeup tests are given by appointment. Excused absences from class and
performances may be made up by making an appointment with the band
director.
The only acceptable make up for a missed performance is a six hundred
word
hand written report (no computer word processors) about a music
composer
or related subject to the students instrument.
