Dear Parents:

Your child has shown an interest in our school band and we are pleased that we can again offer band Monday through Fridays. Mr. Reeder is our instructor.

Please be advised of the following information:

The book used for band is "STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE": LEVEL ONE and LEVEL TWO. All 5^th grade students will need both books, which the parent must purchase and can be found at Dunkley Music. Jackson 6^th grade will need to purchase the “Standard of Excellence” books as well. The cost for the book is about $10.00.

The School District can furnish the large instruments only, such as Tubas and Baritone horns. All other instruments must be furnished by the parents and can be rented at any of the local music stores for a monthly fee. Students are encouraged to play clarinet in lieu of the saxophone.

Students must make a firm commitment to the band and the study involved. Dropping out of band is heavily discouraged.

Band will begin on August 28^th, and will end around June 2. The students should have the instrument in their possession by Aug. 31^st if to participate in the band.
