Goals & Objectives

Goal 1: To use best practices, formative & summative assessments, and learning teams to increase/maintain the percentage of students, including all subgroups, achieving reading, writing and math proficiency.

  • Objective 1: To increase/maintain the percentage of K-3 grade students, including all subgroups, scoring at grade level (“3”) on the IRI until state standards are met or exceeded for spring 2006 with an emphasis on increasing to 85% the number of third grade students scoring at grade level ("3")..
  • Objective 2: To increase the fluency rate of 4th – 6th grade students so that 75% of them score at or above the WPM Proficiency rates (4th = 110 WPM; 5th = 115 WPM; and 6th = 120 WPM).
  • Objective 3: To increase/maintain the RIT scores on the 3rd - 6th grade 2006 Spring Language & Reading ISAT so that 73% or more of the students score at the proficient/advanced level & 70% or more of the students score at the proficient/advanced level on the Spring Math ISAT.
  • Objective 4: To increase to 65% the number of 5th grade students scoring a "3" or above on the state winger DWA.
  • Objective 5: To increase to 70% the percentage of 4th grade students scoring "3" or above on the state winter DMA.

GOAL 2: To create a learning community that is a safe and positive environment and fosters the core values of respect and responsibility for both students and adults alike.

  • Objective 1: To continue to implement the Academy for Character Building Program (framework) in order to maintain the downward trend in the number of students involved in behaviors requiring administrative intervention.
  • Objective 2: To decrease the number of student absences by communicating regularly with students and parents.
  • Objective 3: To celebrate individual and collective accomplishments of staff and students in order to help the school sustain its improvement initiatives and advance the school’s vision and mission.
  • Objective 4:  To promote internet safety in collaboration with parents and community members.

GOAL 3: To implement/maintain a model of school, family, and community partnerships that is designed to engage, guide, energize, and motivate students to produce their own successes.

  • Objective 2: To create opportunities for families to understand & participate in the decision-making process regarding school goals & objectives.
  • Objective 3: To partnership with the community in providing resources and services that will support student academics & behavior.

GOAL 4: To integrate and utilize technology as a tool to support both the curriculum and the individual learning needs of students.

  • Objective 1: To increase the number of staff members involved in extending their expertise and knowledge in the area of technology.
  • Objective 2: To increase student involvement & academic performance through the integration of technology in the classroom.
  • Objective 3:  To integrate keyboarding skills into the current classroom curriculum in Grades 3rd - 6th.
