Students receive an overview of marketing, its scope, significance and social responsibilities in the U.S. free enterprise system. Theories and principles of the economic free enterprise system relating to marketing principles in a free market system are examined. Offered at each home high school.
Marketing Promotions

Students learn how business communicates with its customers and the promotional elements of advertising, visual merchandising, display, public relations, publicity and personal selling. Included are: field trips, guest speakers, role playing, and computer simulations. Offered at each home high school.
Co-op Education

of two semesters of Marketing classes & enrollment in a Marketing class, Instructor Approval
Credit: 1
or 2 per semester (two hour block)
Students and instructor will identify marketing careers of interest and locate job openings. A job sponsor will be designated, plan will be created and a training agreement signed. The student will average 15 hour per week for one credit or 20 hours per week for two credits.
Entrepreneurship

1st semester (two hour block)
Students receive an overview of entrepreneurship, including pros and cons of owning a business. Subjects include: the profile of a successful entrepreneur, the development of a business plan, the planning of major marketing strategies for a new business, sources of funds and financial needs. Student must provide his/her own transportation and dress appropriately.
Business Management/Sports &Entertainment

2nd semester (two hour block)
Students receive an overview of the tools and techniques used to successfully operate a business. Focus is on the marketing of the business, its product, the creation of a marketing plan and strategies. Issues studied: management decision-making involving planning and organizing, the implementing and controlling of finances and employees. Included are: field trips, guest speakers, role playing, and computer simulations focusing on the sports and entrainment industry. Students provide their own transportation and dress appropriately.
