Prerequisite: None
This course covers welding and related processes. This course will focus on shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, oxy-acetylene welding and cutting, plasma-arc cutting, carbon-arc cutting. Safety will be taught in all phases of welding and cutting, and use of shop hand and power tools. Students will be able to fabricate projects such as automotive exhaust systems, suspension systems, pick-up ornamental roll bars, push bars, light bars, grill guards, trailer hitches, utility trailers and log splitters.

1 and Instructor/Counselor Approval
Students will focus on advanced skill development in shop safety, oxy-fuel cutting, oxy-acetylene welding soldering, brazing, arc welding, carbon-arc welding, measuring and blueprint reading for entry level skills. Students will be able to fabricate advanced shop projects such as automotive suspension systems, exhaust systems, trailers, log splitters, etc. Emphasis will be on advanced welding and fabrication technology applications.
Welding 3

Prerequisite: Welding
2 and Instructor/Counselor Approval
Students will develop advanced knowledge and skills in gas metal flux core wire feed welding, gas tungsten arc welding, shielded metal arc welding, measuring, and blueprint reading for entry level positions. Emphasis will be on problem solving, welding and fabrication meeting industry standards.
Welding: Internship

Prerequisite: Instructor
Approval
With instructor coordination, students will secure an appropriate and related job with training plan outline approved by instructor. Students must provide own transportation.
