I believe that as a kindergarten teacher, I have the opportunity to instill a love of learning that is unique because I facilitate the child’s first year of schooling.  My goal is to instill excitement and joy for learning, and to nurture and develop the child’s self-confidence and self-worth. 

    My kindergarten program recognizes that each child is a unique, active learner with her/his own rate of growth. It focuses on the whole child by encouraging growth in all areas: intellectual, emotional, physical, and social. It also provides children time and opportunity to interact, to explore, to manipulate, to choose and to make decisions. Technology is incorporated through the use of the Waterford Early Reading Program. My program encourages each child to be a curious, capable, active, caring, self-confident, creative, and assertive learner. This is achieved by the active participation of parents, older students, the Accelerated Learning Team, administration, and myself in the child’s learning process.
