I believe that each
child is an individual. They should each be valued for their own strengths
and weaknesses. My job as a teacher is to take each child where they are
and challenge them to learn and grow academically and socially. I do this
through varied instruction, using whole group, small groups, partners,
and individuals. I like the learning to be fast paced, as much hands on
as possible, while integrating technology and arts into our curriculum.
I feel strongly that parents should be part of the team. Teachers, parents, and their children should be able to work together, sharing ideas and supporting each other to improve learning. My ultimate goal as a teacher is to provide an environment in which a child can become an enthusiastic, independent learner. |
