Invent A Machine

There are five tasks for you to complete:

  1. Gather information about simple machines. 
  2. Invent a machine that will make your employer's work easier. 
  3. Create a picture and model of your invention.
  4. Write a sales pitch in order to sell your product to your classmates.
  5. Present your invention.

Task 1 - Gather Information About Simple Machines

After you have filled out the info. sheet and printed it,  you're ready for Task 2! 

 

Task 2 - Invent A Machine. 

YOU'RE HIRED!

1.  Choose who you would like to work for:

Farmer

Teacher

 

Builder

 

Chef

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.  Work as a group to BRAINSTORM ideas for a new machine.

3.  After you've brainstormed, choose the one that you will invent.  

Once you've chosen the machine you'll design you're ready for Task 3.

 

Task 3 - Create a Picture and Model

1.  Draw a detailed picture of your invention. 

        Include:

2.  Create a 3-D model of your invention.

(Hint: The more realistic your model is,

the more likely people will be to want to buy it.)

 

After your picture and model are complete, you're ready for Task 4.

 

 

 

Task 4 - Write a Sales Pitch to Sell Your Invention.

 

1.  In a persuasive paragraph, describe in detail your invention. 

2.  Your goal is to persuade your employer to buy your invention.

3.  Explain what it does, how to use it, and why it'll make their job a breeze! 

You're now ready for the final task!

 

 

Task 5 - Present Your Invention

1.  Tell your teacher you are ready to set up a time for you to present.
