World Studies 7
Welcome to World Studies 7. This two semester class
focuses on the history, geography, and culture of Asia and Africa.
By the end of this course students should:
- Have a better knowledge of Asian and African
geography.
- Be able to discuss the different religions practiced
in Africa and Asia.
- Recognize important aspects in history that have
shaped the modern world.
- Be able to discuss contemporary social, political,
and economic issues pertaining to our areas of study.
Here is a general outline of our curriculum:
1st Semester
Unit 1- The 5 Themes of Geography
Unit 2- Prehistory
Unit 3- The Fertile Crescent
Unit 4- Egypt
Unit 5 and 6 - Middle East ( Geography/History/Culture )
Unit 7, 8, and 9 - India ( Geography/ Early and Modern History/ Culture
)
2nd Semester
Unit 10 and 11 - Southeast Asia (
Geography/History/Culture )
Unit 12, 13, and 14- China ( Geography/ Early and Modern History/
Culture )
Unit 15 and 16- Japan and the Koreas ( Geography/History/Culture )
Unit 17 and 18- Sub-Saharan Africa ( Geography/History/Culture )
